Understanding digital evolution at
WTM Africa 2018

Change has become such a constant in the digital world that it is no longer possible to identify coming trends or technologies. Instead successful businesses exist in an environment of constant evolution driven by the needs of their market. In travel this is even more true. So how do both destinations and travel businesses move, learn from, and evolve with the new connected traveller?

This sentiment is what will lay the foundation for this year’s E-Tourism Africa Summit (eTAS) hosted at WTM Africa 2018. The summit will take a deep dive into the technologies affecting how travellers book and enjoy their trips and how the travel trade can keep up.

Hosted in the WTM Africa Inspire Theatre on Friday, 20 April 2018 at WTM Africa, eTAS will once again feature well-known travel technology speakers, lead by Damian Cook, CEO of E-Tourism Frontiers.

In 2018, eTAS will focus on the platforms and technology that aids in digital marketing, daily operations and what trends are important to take note of moving ahead.”

We want to challenge and inspire and we want to show how tourism businesses can make small changes to how they operate and communicate online – so that these changes can reap rewards. It’s never been more important to stay up to date,” explains Damian Cook, CEO of E-Tourism Frontiers Ltd.

In addition to the programme available at eTAS, WTM Africa will facilitate further sessions on travel and technology including a session with Keith Jenkins, CEO iambassador, that will delve into how best travel brands can work with social media influencers and how to orchestrate a successful influencer marketing campaign.

WTM Africa, now in its fifth year, is on track to deliver another outstanding travel trade show at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 18 – 20 April 2018.
